History

The Swiss Interest Group for Integrative Pediatrics (SIGIP) was founded in 2017 with the aim to create a national platform of pediatricians interested in the integration of conventional and complementary therapies in the spirit of integrative medicine. This was preceded by individual smaller initiatives with different orientations and focuses. With the granting of an official mandate by the Swiss Society of Pedatrics (SSP) – today called pädiatrie schweiz – in March 2017, SIGIP became an official interest group, making it the first specialist medical society in Switzerland to have an interest group on integrative medicine.
